What is a Community Cat?
A Community Cat is a cat that has been fixed, vaccinated and eartipped then released back into the area from which it was captured. They are the unowned stray and feral (unsocialized) cats who live outdoors in our neighborhoods without a particular home or owner.
Community cats may be temporarily brought inside a colony caretaker's residence, for their protection, in the event of severe environmental conditions or medical necessity. What is a Feral Cat?

How to Request Help
Are you feeding stray cats?
We can help get them fixed. The Indianapolis city shelter can't save and support the huge number of accidental litters, strays and family pets brought to the shelter every day. Help end the stray cat overpopulation in Indianapolis.
Community Cat Package
Package includes:
- Spay or neuter surgery
- Pain medication
- Rabies/FVRCP vaccination
- Eartip for identification
- Medical treatment if needed
- Trap-Neuter-Return help
We ask for a $30 donation per cat. Any donation you can make is appreciated but not required as we rely on donations to help as many cats as possible. Ask about FREE or discounted programs you may qualify for as funds are available.
