Our Mission:
IndyFeral seeks to reduce the unowned stray and feral (wild) cat overpopulation through the non-lethal method of Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), not trap and kill.

INDIANAPOLIS - Summertime
often evokes images of vacations and long,
sunny days. But for cats in our community, summer
can be the most dangerous time of year.
A large number of kittens are born each
summer due to the active breeding season
in springtime. Shelters are already stretched
to the limit, so most of these kittens and
cats will face euthanasia if captured by
animal control.
And those cats left on the street don't
have it any easier. Many face dehydration
or overheating due to the extreme
temperatures.
Lisa Tudor, Executive Director of IndyFeral put it this way, "Summer is one of our
busiest times. We must act quickly to trap
these new kittens, along with the rest of
their colonies, to ensure that they get proper
medical care and are spayed or neutered to
prevent future litters."
IndyFeral volunteers also spend
countless hours providing colonies with
food and clean water to ensure that they can
be hydrated in the heat.
That's why IndyFeral is
conducting our Summer Fund Drive to
raise much-needed support. As more feral
cat colonies are identified, the need for
funding dramatically increases.
"We saw a lot of cats last year that needed
our help," Tudor explained,
"and we expect even more this year. We
need to be ready to help each one that we
encounter."
"These cats don't need much," she
said, "but they can't ask for help. So we're
asking for them. Please, help us get through
the next few months by supporting our
Summer Fund Drive."
Some suggested financial contributions:
- $25 - will help spay or neuter one cat
- $35 - will provide needed medical care to cats and kittens
- $50 - will buy a trap to help TNR a feral cat colony
- $100 - will pay for a TNR training workshop
- $250 - will cover all our expenses to TNR a feral cat colony

IndyFeral believes that all cats have an intrinsic value - owned and unowned, indoor or outdoor. We also know that while feral cat caretakers often form a very personal bond with the cats in the colonies they supervise, they do not always have the resources to pay for treatment without help. Therefore, IndyFeral believes that providing low cost or free medical services to feral and stray cats is an important component of our Trap-Neuter-Return program.
Ray's Fund is a medical services fund that was established to meet this important need. Donations to Ray's Fund will be used exclusively for medical treatment (including all necessary rehab and recovery at our clinic) of sick or injured colony cats.
In 2009, IndyFeral veterinarians performed 395 medical exams and 406 medical procedures, including wound repair, limb removal, and enucleation (eye removal).

About Ray: Ray's Fund was created in memory of IndyFeral's last colony cat "on-site" at our clinic/warehouse. Ray had a unique spirit and made a lasting impression on all of us.

Donations to Ray's Fund are tax deductible.
Here is a story from a caretaker whose partially blind feral cat was able to receive medical treatment thanks to Ray's Fund:
"Even though our tiny black feral Sophie has passed on,
we want to thank you for the years she may not have had
if not for IndyFeral. One of your vets discovered she had
pyrometra during her spay and gave her antibiotics to help.
Unfortunately, she was one of those kitties that are never
entirely healthy. She would have been impossible to take to a
normal vet, so we relied on IndyFeral to help us take care of
our most feral feral. Thank you for helping her to survive as
long as she did, and live the best life she could."
